A neo-expressionist artist originating from Kabul, Afghanistan, Djawed Wasseh lives in Münster, Germany where he found refuge in 1980. New in Germany, Wasseh painted in order to keep himself busy. As an artist his goal was to convey positive and negative emotions via his paintings. His works are capsules of felt emotions shared and unnamed. It is therefore completely up to the viewer to decide and reflect upon what the painting is about and what emotion it generates for the viewer.
