The Acutis team is always looking for ways to give back and help to improve our local communities, and our dedication to this commitment extends beyond our work in the lab. Last Tuesday, a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) visited our facility to receive a donation of 7 laptops, 6 desktops, and their required cables to support the group’s Community Computer Connections Program (CCCP).
A non-profit program in action for more than 12 years, the CCCP’s mission is to help improve the quality of life for low-income households and veterans of Long Island by working with volunteers to refurbish, add software to, deliver, and install donated computers and laptops to their clients free of charge.
The RSVP Suffolk supports people 55 and older who want to remain active by providing volunteer opportunities that enable them to make a difference in their communities. In addition to the Community Computer Connections Program, the RSVP Suffolk provides various free programs and services including the Health Insurance Information Counseling Assistance Program, a 6-week Living Healthy with Better Choices workshop, Telephone Reassurance procedures, and much more.
We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to donate to the CCCP and plan to continue to work with RSVP Suffolk to support their initiatives now and in the future.
The CCCP is currently in need of laptops and small computers – if you would like to donate to their cause or to request a computer, please click here.
