Nose spray vaccines could quash COVID virus variants

Although vaccines have proven life savers and the most effective tool in our fight against COVID-19 pandemic, the ongoing evolution, and the emergence of newer variants like Omicron and its subvariants has resulted in diminished vaccine effectiveness in warding off the infection completely and are now only preventing serious illness, prompting scientists to think about the alternates.

Scientific American believes one of the reasons behind such diminished activity over time seems to be the location of the jabs. Three nasal spritzes, now in advanced trials, could trigger stronger immunity than shots in the arm, the norm. Nasal spray vaccines could trigger stronger immunity than shots in the arm as they are delivering inoculations to the site where the virus first makes contact: the nose, it’s been widely and closely watched by the scientific community.
